Role, Responsibilities, and Opportunities
The Lisle Global Seed Fund offers small grants to projects which aim to fulfill the mission and purpose of Lisle. The Lisle Board requires each project to be sponsored by a Lisle Mentor - a person familiar with the Lisle experience who can help assure the project is aligned with Lisle's values and vision. Responsibilities and opportunities for a Lisle Mentor includes:
Active involvement in the initial proposal process. Lislers have a unique world view and perspective. Their input in the project proposal can help improve the project and make it more likely to receive a Lisle grant.
- Providing the Lisle Board a direct means of communication with the Mentor. This should include address, telephone, probably email, and probably fax as a minimum.
- Interacting with the requesting organization and Lisle board members. The mentor supports the persons who are developing the project proposal, and works with designated Lisle Board members over time to build into the final project proposal a rich environment for incorporating Lisle outcomes.
- Review the application prior to submission to ensure it is presented in a way that clearly fits Lisle's vision and mission.
- Act as a liaison between the applicant and Lisle board members. This includes:
- Helping the organization provide an interim report on the progress of the project as well as helping troubleshoot any challenges that come up.
- Working with the organization to provide articles to Interaction magazine that showcase the project.
- Providing the Lisle board with an informal, personal evaluation of the project.
- Provide feedback to support future projects. Communicate with the Lisle Seed Grant Committee with suggestions for strengthening future projects and the Lisle grants process.
