Lisle's purpose is stated as follows:  Lisle is committed to broadening global awareness and increasing 
appreciation of cultures through bringing together persons of diverse religious, cultural, sexual, 
political, and racial backgrounds, to interact, and to consider reflectively their experience. The 
Lisle is committed to providing an experiential education approach which emphasizes cooperative, 
democratic leadership, and participation.  Lisle supports experiences where program participants enhance 
their communication skills, discover greater tolerance for diverse ideas, and gain greater respect for 
all life. Conflict resolution, community building, and increased knowledge of self are common outcomes 
of programs supported by Lisle. Lisle seeks to support organizations and individuals which exemplify 
multicultural/multiracial decision-making, planning, and administration.
